Romeo... is the debut album by Uplifters member Jeremiah Easton, released March 13, 1972, through Soul Records. The album shaped Easton's style sonically, with most of the albums tracks having long instrumental outros, the longest track spanning 11 minutes and 52 seconds. The album was certified gold by the RIAA on March 20, 1972, and certified platinum on November 23, 1972.
Recording and production[]
Most of the album, including dozens of demos, was recorded at Criteria Studios in Miami, while "Got To Give It Up" and "Purple Rain" were recorded at First Avenue in Minneapolis. Many songs were left off the album due to the length of Got To Give It Up and Purple Rain.
